I would like to know what the best way to store lilium bulbs. I tryed to store them in vermeulite last year but it roted. I live in quebec and would like to dig them up in oct. nov.and store them for the winter.Anna lisa

Lilium bulbs are hardy and do not require lifting and storage for the winter. In fact, they require a cold period to bloom properly the following summer. When the ground freezes, apply a 2-3 inche layer of mulch and they should be fine over the winter!
