I have a flower bed in my front yard that hasnt been tended at all for at least 4-5 years. Yesterday I dug up around 50-60 plants that look like gigantic green onions. My mother remembers that they bloom in the winter months with a white flower that she thought was a sego lily but I am not convinced that is what they are. They are all approximately 3 feet tall with bulbs that range fom the size of a marble to the size of a golf ball and they really do look a lot like onions. There is no smell to the bulb or stem so I know thats not what they are. I am convinced they are some sort of lily but I am no gardener by any stretch of the imagination. Can anyone help? I would post pics but I dont have photobucket or anything like that. If you want to see them I can email them.
