Go ahead and plant! Be sure you don't break them or else you'll lose this year's flowers!

Make sure the bulb is 6-8 inches below the ground. The sprouts should be covered and in a few days, they'll push themselves up and catch up with the rest of the 'em!

Fertilze when the sprouts are up and actively growing. They should flower if the bulbs were of decent size.

They'll be normal and more vigorous next year!

Thanks so much for the info on what to do with the lilies. I have a question for you, or anyone else who reads this, about fertilizer. Although I've been gardening for 15 years, the first 12 were in rental houses where I didn't have much space or spend too much time. It's only been the last 3 years since I bought my house that I've become a serious and dedicated gardener who is out in the garden on weekends by 6:30 and still out there at 7:00 at night. I'm totally addicted at this point. And still learning everything and making mistakes. So, back to fertilizer-what do I use, and how much? I think I need to start writing the info on fertilizer down; I've been trying to keep it all in my head. Everything needs something different, and at different times and in different amounts. I'm afraid to put the wrong fertilizer on the wrong plant.
