Does anyone have personal experience with this lily?? Any input would be appreciated. |

Hi Scandia, All kinds of plants are called lilies. But, if their botanical name isn't lilium - something, then they aren't a lily. (Lavender Mountain Lily = Ixiolirion tataricum.) I'd check with the perennials or bulbs forums if you don't get an answer here. I checked your link they're quite beautiful but I don't have any experience with them to share with you. -Helen

I Started a topic on the Bulb Forum also..I made a mistake, I didn't search through their topics; someone else had asked the same question..There were only 2 comments..One person liked them and one did not like them because hers did not bloom. I can get anything to bloom so I am not concerned about that. I guess I will just buy some and see what happens. It is a lovely flower and on sale so I can take the risk.

My neighbor grows them. We are in zone 6. He says they are as easy as pie if they get afternoon shade and bonemeal every year. He says that's all the care they need, and oh yes, the squirrels like to dig them up and eat them so keep that in mind. Lainey

Thanks Lainey; I have 6 cats who live in an armoire on my front porch, so squirrels do not like my yard. I have trained my cats not to kill birds. Squirrels must be smart they never come into my yard or near my cats...It is "The Yard of Doom" for squirrels, snakes, mice, rats, etc......
