Is it too late to plant tiger or oriental lilies?

I'm in Eastern Massachusetts, zone 6.

I have a large empty spot in one of my flower beds: the bulbs I planted last year either were all duds, or were all consumed by squirrels and rabbits. In any case, it's Memorial Day weekend, and there's not a sprout in view.

I'd like to plant tiger lilies there. I think they will do well: it's a sheltered spot, well-drained spot, and the soil has been improved, and gets a few hours of afternoon sun. It doesn't get a lot of direct moisture, however, because it's under the shadow of a pine tree.

Is it too late in the year to plant tiger lily bulbs? (It would be nice if they bloomed this year, but not essential--as long as they get a good start on feeding their bulbs for next year, I'll be happy)

If the answer is "no", my followup question is where to buy such bulbs in Eastern MA.

Thanks!
