It's easier to kill a lily by overwatering than underwatering. While moisture during their growing season is good for them, they do not need to be kept constantly moist and can survive fairly extended dry spells. As long as your pot has good drainage (plenty of holes in the bottom) and you don't heavily soak them every day they should be fine.

Thanks for your advice. We have now had two thunderstorms, with heavy rain, so at the moment, they are really wet, so I will let them become dry before thinking of giving them a little water. Thanks again. marni
