The larger bulbs, especially the late varieties may bloom. But even if they don't, you still have the lovely, frilly foliage. I plant blue scabiosa between mine and it looks great. Go ahead and plant them, don't let them dry out until fall.

I've read it takes about 90 to 120 days to bloom. That puts you in early to late September. Still reasonable. You'll be enjoying lilies later than everyone else...which is fine. I planted a crop of Orienpets as well last week. We'll see how they do. Even if they don't bloom, the bulb will be nourished for next year.
