lily has stopped sprouting

i have a Houdini lily that i bought 2 years ago. It spouted, flowered, did its thing that lilies are supposed to do both years. This year, however, it has done absolutely nothing. It is in a pot, and i wonder if my cat has found a favorite place to "water" the outside...
Would this affect the lily?
Today i got bored of schoolwork and decided to dig it up and see if it was dead. There was a great many ants running around on it, but it was a pretty dark purple, with a white tuft of (roots?)- it looked still alive to me. So, i submerged it in water to get the ants off, and i am going to put it back into the pot of dirt.
Should i just leave it and wait until next year for blooms? What can i do? Is there still a chance for late blooming? i am very disappointed because i absolutely love lilies, and have come to look forward to seeing my little Houdini.
Thank you everyone in advance.

It needs new dirt. Nutrients have been used up in the old mix.
