Moving from CA to PA now (what timing!)

I'm heading back home to Pennsylvania now and desperately want to take my asiatic and tiger lilies with me. They have about 8-12 inches of green on them right now. My plan is to dig them up, brush off the dirt and mail them priority mail to my mother in Pennsylvania. She will then plant them. I don't really care if I loose the blooms this year (or next), I just want them to survive to bloom another day. Do you think it will work? Should I put damp paper towels in a ziplock with the bulb end or just leave everything dry? Help!!

Thank you,

Bellatrix
