Yes. I've done this before. Put the damp paper towel around the roots and leave a little soil on there too. Then put the roots with paper towel in a sandwich bag and tie a twist tie around the top to keep it on there. It's best to wrap the bundle in brown paper before putting in the shipping box. Ship fastest way and have Mom pot them up as soon as they arrive, water and put in the shade.

When I did this, a few of them went ahead and bloomed, and some dropped their buds. But you don't want to stress them by putting in the sun after potting. A shot of water infused with vitamin B1 doesn't hurt either, but no fertilizer.
