Grubs in lily stems

greenguy1

The following has happened this year to 'Black Beauty,' 'Elegant Lady' and 'Conca d'Or.'

Everything seems to be going along fine, then I notice the top of the plant looking unhealthy and it starts to fail. I trace down the stem to where the unhealthiness starts and find what looks like a puncture. I cut the top off just at the puncture and peel the stem open. At some point I get to a small grub that appears to be eating its way up the pith, leaving the pith cavity filled with loose sawdusty stuff that must be grub poop.

What is this critter?
