asiatic lily question

I have been picking my asiatics for about a week now to have in the house. I change the water every couple days when I add another lily or two. this morning I discovered the first one I had picked has roots coming out of the stem. my question is: if I put this stem in soil, will it grow a bulb? sorry for the dark picture..
