Bulbs too deep now

Hi:

I have some lilies in a 2ft deep trough. We had some trees removed and one tree was pulled too close to the trough. The root ball caught the edge of the trough and pushed it about 2 feet. The result was one end of the trough had the soil mounded up in it so that the lily bulbs (which were shooting up through the soil) have an additional 6 inches of soil over it covering the little shoot completely. The bulbs may have been "rolled" around and over too for all I know. Are these bulbs gone? Do I need to dig them up and replant at a better depth?

Thanks

Mit
