It's a great lily! It's probably one of the easier lilies to grow, and definitely a good starter lily. Last year was its first year and my garden as was beautiful, can't wait to see it bloom this season. Thnx so much Scott for your post and link. I really enjoyed following the growth of it all. I'm in Z5 which kinda of worries me, if it bloomed 1st of Aug. it might be 1st of sept. here. Its 3 ft already being a container plant so maybe the 1st yr it will bloom earlier and become established. Anyway thnx for the response...

Black Beauty usually blooms early August for me here in MN. It's one of my favorites. It also multiplies though not as rapidly as asiatics. I've counted upwards of 40 blooms on a mature stem. It can take it a year or two to really settle in and show what it can do.

It is a stunner for sure. Love mine.
