small buds on asiatic lilies, what are they?

Okay, so today I was watering and noticed these little red buds on some asiatic lilies. I'm not sure what they are. I found them only on the ones that haven't bloomed this year, could they be flower buds? It's kinda late in the season, which is why i'm not sure if that's what they are. Any ideas? Below are the pics I took, though I'm not sure if the links would work.

Those look kind of like the bulbils on tiger lilies. I didn't think asiatics produced bulbils though?

They are like bulblets. Later in the summer, they will get large enough to remove and plant. They will also start to grow short roots. Once planted, they will not show any growth above ground until next year.
