Transplanting? Ideal time?

Hello all.

I'm finally getting around to working on my sun garden out back and have space for some of the Asiatic lillies I bought last year. Many of them are in bloom now, or will be shortly. I know that ideally, you don't want to transplant anything while it's in bloom, plus it's been a bit warm here in the twin cities.

I am able to dig them and leave most of the soil on the bulb, and the total exposed time would be 20 minutes or less. What do you think?

So, my question is this: When should I transplant these? Should I wait till the stem browns? Or just till after the flowers have wilted?

I did try to find the answer to this in the FAQ and in other posts, but didn't have any luck. Hopefully, y'all can help me out!

TIA,

Melissa
