If you're seeing buds on them, it seems like you've done just about everything right so far!

After planting, watering is fairly crucial. A good weekly soak at the base of the plants is generally enough depending on the weather and how much moisture your soil holds. Drainage is absolutely key when growing lilies so I hope you don't have issues with this.

As for fertilizing, people have different schedules, but I generally apply a 5-10-10 granular organic fertilizer when the lilies have begun to break ground and then another application before or after flowering to ensure that I get enough energy down into the bulb for next year's bloom. Simply snap off the flowering head once all the flowers fade (or cut them to use in arrangements indoors while still fresh). You want to leave around 2/3 of the stem and leaves to replenish the bulb for next summer!

To keep 'em very happy, I would top-dress/mulch with a quality, weed-free , compost and/or well rotted manure in the fall. During the growing season, the base of the plants like it cool so underplanting with shallow rooting annuals and perennials would be a nice touch to your lily bed.

Lots of people, including me, use blood meal as a side dressing to fertilize the lilies in early spring and late fall. It helps replenish the food in the bulb for the next year.
