Question: Torch Lily bloom / cut back?

Hello,

First of all, please excuse my complete lack of knowledge; I'm quite new to gardening.

I have planted in an approx. 12"x12"x12" container a torch lily (Kniphofia "First Sunrise"). It's on the south-west corner of my deck, and so gets a lot of sunlight.

When I planted it, it had 2 large and 1 smaller bright orange blooms. The large ones are at the top of approx. 36" high stems.

After about 3 weeks, the blooms have lost all their orange color (essentially died), and the top half of the stems have grown some whitish "hair".

My question: what do I do now? Do I cut the stems off? If so, do I do so as near to the bottom as possible? And, will the plant likely bloom again this summer?

Thanks for your help.

Brad
