Hi Phyl,
Sure it will bloom (unless it was just barely blooming size this year). When a bulbs foliage is cut early (Lily or otherwise) unless it is very immature the result is just a somewhat smaller bulb the next. So you may have fewer blooms, but it will be OK.

Thats why invasives with underground rhizomes or bulbs are so hard to control. You have to cut them for several years in a row before the bulb is depleted.

Hi Phyl,
I think last nights rain frightened my Scheherazade and Leslie Woodriff into blooming. I woke up to 1/2 dozen blooms between the two. The wind caused both to droop and I had to stake them.

Thanks Helen, for clarifying it for me! And Joe, I am so glad your Scheherazade and Leslie Woodriff are blooming for you. Did you have tons of rain like we did? We're finally drying out here too. Our neighbor just had a HUGE hole dug in his backyard for a built-in pool and the next day we all had a deluge. His future "pool" was a 10 foot mud puddle! They had to pump all the muddy water out the next day. We had 6 inches that day. :0) Phyl
