Hi Rommy:

I have some planted in basically full sun. This is their first year but they seem to be doing fine. Approx 8 flowers on each, not too bad a start. Most lilies like lots of sunshine, possibly your shade has deepened over time and stunted the growth of your plant. I would move them (what have you got to lose?) this fall. Use generous amounts of bone meal in a well draining soil when replanting and you should have flowers again next year.

Thanks for your reply MG. I will transplant them in with my other lillies that are in full sun. I started my lilly patch out with some day lillies that were abundant in this yard when I moved in. The problem was they were coming up in the areas they had been planted in and dying back after just a short while. I finally dug some up and planted them in a spot ( the only spot I might add..lol) that has full sun and good drainage. The ones I transplanted have taken off the gotten more abundant and produced more flowers over the years. It has really peaked my desire to add to it and have myself a lilly garden with all kinds intermingled in that area. My daughter bought me an oriental lilly that I will transplant there after it is finished blooming this fall. I need to divide the lillies that are there also. I will let you know how the easter lillies do when I get them established.

Hi MG, Thanks for the pic. It makes me wanna cry remembering how pretty my easter lilly was when it had about 16 blooms all over it. I miss it and sure hope it produces next year. The picture is beautiful. My orientals are making up for the lack of my easter lilly right now and they smell scrumptious!
