Deformed lily blooms...does anyone know why?

Hello all,
This lily has been pushing up strong and lusty year after and it looks great....until it blooms, that is.
Being the eternal optimist, I have spared it...hoping that given enough time, it will bloom like a good and proper little lily.
Can anyone speculate as to what it's problem might be?

Possibly virus.

Don't know when you got it, looks like it might be a precursor to some of those double ones that "seem" to be popular, myself I prefer the regular lilies, love the smell, the freckles, the streaking, and the colors.
