They look to be either asiatics or LA's. I have not heard of asiatic tiger lilies. A few of my very earliest blooming asiatics have begun to "ripen" but it sounds as though it may be botrytis and it can be caused by to much water/rain.

Yeah, I didn't think that they could be "tiger lilies" and "asiatic" at the same time. The comapny called them "New Tiger Lilies" and then call them an asiatic hybrid. Here's the page with the description of what I bought - http://www.dutchmillbulbs.com/store.asp?pid=16691&catid=19813 - I'm not surprised it's inaccurate. I also bought some adorable flowers from this same company - they called them Holland Charms, and I love them, but I can find NO information anywhere on the web about what they are or how to care for them.

As for botrytis - I saw no signs of fungus and they didn't turn black or mushy - it's more like they dried out (which seems odd considering all the rain). Like daffodils do when they're done - the leaves just turned brown and died.

Doesn't really matter at this point, I just really hope they come back next year, they were simply gorgeous this year.

The lilies don't necessarily turn black and mushy with botrytis. For example the botrytis that attacks peonies is different from the one that attacks lilies. Lilies nedd good drainge and good air circulation. If you have normal weather next year they should be fine. Looking at the pictures from the website, the heavy spotting leads me to believe that they probably are some type of tiger hybrid. There have been a lot of new crosses the last few years.

They look like LAs to me.
