Sunburn?

I've had a Corvara the last two years. About a week after the flower fully opens, the flower begins to show signs of scabbing. In the photo above, the scabbing has progressed to cover nearly the entire petal surface. My theory is that this is sunburning, and would like confirmation from others. Thank you.
