| I used to be a florist, brought spent potted bulbs home for years. Don't have that luxury anymore so this year I purchased half a dozen packages of Oriental lily bulbs from random sources and half of them were not correctly labeled.
Is this common? I bought Regale lilies and got pale yellow Asiatics, can't remember the source. One of those Van somebodies. Bought at a nursery, not big box store. I bought Bahia Blanca and Expression from Costco and the photo of Expression on the package isn't Expression so while what I got are Expression, they don't look like what I thought they were going to look like. Triumpinator and Tom Pouce from Wal*Mart were correctly labeled. I was surprised, I thought of all they wouldn't be. |

| Buyorsell: go to www.davesgarden.com they rate quite a few mail order sources. These lily folks helped me find it and am very grateful...I even cancelled an order. Sometimes you can get good deals at big box stores. 3 years ago I bought 3 pk of 15 bulbs each of stargazers VERY cheap. My back paid for it in planting them. SOme of the stories are horrible. I can sympathize with many preparing a bed getting all ready and getting junk, or waiting months for them to sprout only to find out, like you did they aren't what they are supposed to be. 5 years I swore I would never buy another mail order periennal, bu thanks to all these nice folks I'm looking forward already to 2008! |

| It is very common. Surprisingly I get the best result with bulbs from Walmart. in mail-ordering I get 100% what i ask for from BRECKS and DUTCH GARDENS. |
