Voodo Lily - Zone 5A Canada

I received two bulbs for this plant 3 years ago and have been growing them in pots - bringing them in to overwinter each year. I was a bit doubtful as to whether they were really Voodoo Lily bulbs, since they were about the size of a dime, and most pics. of the bulbs show them to be quite large. They did grow and have the snake like stem and palm like foliage, but no flower. Last year, I decided to try one in the ground overwinter - heavily mulched and I lost it. The other bulb has now split because I have two plants in the pot. The pot is quite small - maybe 1/2 gallon. I have not removed the bulbs from the pot to see how large they are. Do they grow and eventually start flowering when they are large enough? Should I put them in a larger pot? They are in full sun all summer. I am wondering if anyone can give me any pointers to getting this plant to bloom. It seems that there are some people on this forum who have them growing in their gardens. I live in a very cold heavy snow belt and have a fairly short growing season - late May to mid September most years. Thanks in advance for your help.

Northerner.
