Wintering lilies in containers

Chimpy

I got my first oriental lilies this year as bulbs, and planted them in small stone pots on our patio, not realising how tall they grew. They gave a wonderful display and I love them, but I'm concerned that a cold winter in Britain and small pots will harm them. Should I unearth them after they've died down and let them dry out? Or replant them in larger containers? I want a great show as I've had this year, next year.

Thanks in advance
