That usually happens when bulbs are not in good shape or planted too late. Do not worry, they will come back stronger next year. Give them some bulb fertilizer when they will sprout next spring.

This happened to me too. But I was planting "sale" lilies very late; like May. Some bloomed, some didnÂt, none any taller than a foot at the most. Consider it an investment for next year, when they will be fine. Legend was one of the ones I planted. It did have a very pretty flower: I know we will both be happy with it next year. You are supposed to plant them in the fall, but every year I find great deals discounted at the hardware store, so canÂt resist. Last years May deals were absolutely huge and magnificent this year.
