It looks like it might be Fritillaria persica, a plant I would like to have someday.

Rats! Some lilies grow here, but none of the fritillaries. Oh well. : ]

I have a full-shot photo. The leaves are closer to the base.

Although I admire fritillaria persica, these flowers are obviously more lily-like.

I finally googled Fritillaria persica and it's obviously not that, but I still don't have much idea of what it could be. Is there a purple variety of Cardiocrinum? But that would have heart-shaped leaves. Still more info needed!
