Want Turk's cap Lily - New to lilys

Hi. I really want a turk's cap lily for my hummingbird garden.

If I buy a bulb - can I plant it in zone 6/7 now?

Or If I wait until spring, is there a source that sells the actual plant?

If I buy a plant in spring, do I have a better chance of getting a flower this year, than if I buy a bulb?

Thanks

Maureen

What type of "turk's cap lily" are you looking into??

You can plant this fall or next spring. Just be sure to buy from a reliable source that will sell you healthy, flowering size bulbs. And then, you're guaranted elegant blooms next summer!

    Best of luck!

Any of the ones that the hummingbirds like. I like the 'superbum' but will take any.

I tried Becky & Brents - they are out of stock. Can you recommend a reliable source for big healthy bulbs?

    Thanks

I called Brent & Becky's a couple days ago and was told that they will carry it (Martagon Lily) this spring. Their Spring and Fall lists are different so that's why I checked. But feel free to call them yourself and confirm, (and so they don't change their minds!)

I think JS may have them - try John Scheepers (www.johnscheepers.com). They have excellent bulbs.
