Yippee...uh, darn it: the lily I wanted sold out

Just when I decided I wanted American Spirit Orienpet, it sold out.

Every year I check the sales every few days and hope they run out before I order more. I remember looking at this one last year too.

This time I feel sad. Maybe it's because the weather is still warm enough to plant (though by the time it arrived, it doubtless would not be).

The "American Flame" looks similar and is still shown as in-stock at BloomingBulb.

Oh, you trouble maker you.though I guess Im still safe. For now.

What I liked about American Spirit was that fine pink or red outline around the yellow throat. Like what would be called a watermark if it was a daylily, not sure if it has a name in a true lily. American Flame is nice but it looks like mostly yellow and white
