Lily bulbs

| I dug up and separated my large oriential lilies. There were a lot of roots? that we're coming off the stocks above the ground. I have a picture, but I'm not sure how to load it here. Are those good, or is a result of poor planting? Does it hurt to remove them? |

| Lilies generally put down bulb roots and stem roots as they grow. The stem roots help to anchor the stem. Not to worry the replanted bulbs will put down new roots and as the stems begin to grow next spring they will put out new stem roots. Once the stem has dried for the year the old stem roots serve no purpose. Enjoy your lilies. |
