Hi. I purchased a plant from Ikea Oct 4, 2008, that I know is not bamboo, but can't remember what it was called. My internet search came up with Dracaena sanderiana as the closest match. Anyway, I bought a pot that was slightly bigger (a couple inches deeper, 1 inch wider) than the pot it came in. I added some generic indoor plant soil I picked up from Bachman's. and repotted it a few weeks after I bought it. And a few weeks after I repotted the lowest part of it started dying. What to do? The leaves brown and die. The stalks are wet under the "skin", but the "skin" is "loose". Meaning I can squeeze a stalk and there is like it has rotted underneath, but it is hard underneath. It looks like I'm overwatering it, but I only water it like every few days.
