LB in planter outside - how much direct sun?

My two Lucky Bamboo plants are outside in pots year around. They spent last summer on the North side of the house, with only an hour or so of direct sun. During the winter I brought them around to the South facing side of the house under an overhang to protect from frost. The larger one is doing well, except the leaves have brown and dry tips. The smaller one is sick looking with yellowing spotted leaves and has not grown so far this spring.

My question is, how much sun should LB have during the day? Is full shade better? Full sun? I don't know whether to move them back to the North side or keep them where they will get more sun?

Do you live in Zone 10 or higher?

Hi - thanks for responding. I live in Los Gatos, which I think is zone 9-10.
We're in the midst of a heat wave here this week. I moved the LB to the back of the house (North) on Sunday. The front really traps the heat on hot days, which may or may not be good for LB? Great in the winter. I do have other plants in pots there. Cymbidium orchids, Jacaranda and a few spider plants.

evonnestoryteller - I really goofed! I thought I was in the California Gardening discussion in Garden Web! So sorry, as now I see that most of LB posters are in colder climates. Lucky Bamboo is grown outdoors mostly in Southern CA, whereas I'm in Northern CA, which is why I was asking the question about N/S exposure. Thanks for responding anyway. I'll repost in the CA discussion.

Thanks! Let us know what the answer is for you! It would be good to have the information here too. I was checking on the zone because CA is so large and I thought it would be a good starting point.
