What kind of maple trees? Where is the land located?

sounds like a terrible business model. If it's a business grow what you can sell and grow cheaply. In houston that isnt maple trees. Most are cool temperate trees and houston is humid sub tropical.

Best choice for that area would probably be acer leucoderme (sometimes described as a ssp of sugar maple), which is native to small area of east texas, acer truncatum might do ok. better to grow more than one species of tree if you want to sell them.

Id think loblolly pines, slash pines, oaks etc. would be better.

If you want seedings lawyers comes to mind, but most profitable stages of producation might be propagation so why not get seeds.

I've ordered several hundered seedlings to whips from Lawyer each year for the past two years. I have been pleased with them, their prices, and shipping. And, just this year, they dropped their minimum order from $250 to $200. Also, in late summer, early fall they will send you a notice of what they are trying to offload before winter. Usually, it is all at 50% off. I picked up some good deals two years ago that way.
