pruning

After the late freeze last year, one my maples ended up having several dead branches. I didn't get a chance to prune the branches before the leaves fell, and now I would like to prune the dead away; however, the tree has already budded. Can I prune now or should I wait? If I should wait, when I should prune the branches?

RE: pruning

If the branches are dead you can prune them anytime of the year.
