Just received three 1-year japanese maple grafts.

Sort of new to japanese maples. I have two japenese maples that i've had for 6-7 years planted into the ground. That I have just set-it and forget. Except for frequent watering.

Just received three 1 year grafts maples through the mail. I would like to have them container grown. I have read about Al's gritty mix and would love to set that up. Would it be okay to do them with the grafts I currently received or wait a year for these maples to settle? Also, would any pruning be okay at this time? One of them is Y-Shaped and i am thinking of snipping one of them off.

I plan repot them this weekend with gritty mix if it is okay to do.
