Hey Whass, Dont give up! This has been a wacky spring at best. I know you guys have suffered from late freezes. Im sure you can get a couple of these guys to 'take'.

Well, at least any new ones for now. I have about 7 or so I've been taking in and out of the garage for the last month.

I tried to get them planted while they where dormant but early March heat ruined my plans.

I might give it a couple more weeks and then plant them.

What cultivar is that Picea pungens?

Hopefully warmer weather is coming your way! There are 3 picea pungens in that photo...bottom is 'Montgomery' - middle is 'Sesters Dwarf' and top left is 'Fastigiata'.

on the left hand edge is palmatum 'Mizuho Beni' that I got as a very young graft in Spring 2007

In the corner is shirasawanum 'Aureum' that was listed as a 3-gal when I mail ordered it in 2007 or 08 but sized more like a 1-gal. It is tucked into a corner with NW exposure so only gets direct sun late in the day. A cherished plant

Keith, Youve got some great cultivars there. Ive never seen that acer pictum before,it sure has unique leaves. Thats whats cool about sharing photos and seeing them in a garden setting! And of course you cant say enough about those shirasawanums.
