I have had one for 5 years. Mine gets shade in the morning and some sun in the afternoon with bright shade. Probably two hours of direct sun the hottest part of the day.

It grows very, very slowly for me, but is a very nice plant. My main problem was some type of fungus in the first two years. Now I spray with a fungicide in late fall and early spring and the plant has been OK. Gary
