Some questions on selecting a Japanese Maple

Hi,

I'm trying to select an Acer Palmatum Dissectum (Japanese Mape tree) as a focal point in the front garden.

After doing some basic research (I am a complete novice gardener) I have a vague idea of what I would like and was wondering if you could suggest options and specific species.

My main priority here is the branch structure. I would love to achieve the twisted structure ideally up to a height of approx 2.5 - 4m. My initial inclination is towards the Dissectum but this seems more of a shrub than a tree and to only grow to a maximum of 2m which although ok seems a little small to really appreciate the beauty.

I know this is far too ambitious at this stage but to give you an idea, this is what I would love to see. However these trees seem larger than 2m?

I like the laceleaf look and I don't really mind about colour. A nice green and then orange/ red in autumn would be perfect. The main priority is the twisted form and size.

Also, in general how difficult are Acer Palmatum Dissectum Trees/ shrubs to grow? Are there any specific treatments/ processes which can create the branch structure and are there any taller varieties so to speak?
