what kind of maples are these?

We recently moved into a new home which had a few recently planted trees. I'm quite sure that they are Maples, but I think they are differenttypes of Maples.
The one on the top picture is about 10' tall. The one on the bottom picture is about 16' tall.
The leaves are different in color and size, and the bark is different as well.
So I'm requesting some help in identifying these, please. While they're still relatively small, I want to make sure that these aren't going to be HUGE trees. If so, I can give them to someone with more space...
The picture isn't too shabby and you can zoom in really good using Windows Picture and Fax Viewer.
Any help in identifying these would really be appreciated!

The first one is propably silver maple (acer saccharinum) and the other one might be a red maple (acer rubrum)

RE: what kind of maples are these?

The first one for sure is Silver maple, and they grow fast and they get HUGE. The second one may well be some variety of red maple, which will not grow as fast or get as big, but is still considered a large tree.

Quite likely planted by the builder. He could have made better choices. Landscaping is usually not their strong suit.
