Frost / freeze damage

The frost and feeze in April badly damaged the leaves on my Japanese maple. They are turning brown and are brittle. Will the tree come out or will it look like this for the remainder of the summer? What do I need to do?

See thread on "wholesale slaughter"...it may confuse you more than help but all that is known or presumed or logically guessed on the subject is there...for what it's worth ..it is basically all we think we know on a once in the lifetime event ..David
