Well wait to see what the many experts here think,but I've never experienced leaves breaking off.I can only think of some sort of physical damage but it would take very high winds to cause this.Could there be any animals/birds that you've seen in the vicinity?..any droppings? Obviously the leaves will die once broken but were they dead before breaking? or do they look ok for a while?A bit of leaf browning is not unusual after repotting then taking full sun...sorry can't be much help,hope someone can.

Oh tell a lie,do you think maybe it's shedding leaves,not breaking?Some plants do this when stressed,shedding yellow leaves when overwatered and maybe do the same when hot to slow down transpiration.As I've said I've only experienced drooping leaves/browning at these extremes though.

They don't look dead at all, they just bend right where they connect to the branch and hang straight down. Earlier today I moved the pot to an area that only gets sun from about 8-1 as opposed to 8-5 so hopefully that makes a difference. It'll be in direct sunlight for that much less. I know the pot gets super hot to the touch in direct sunlight even though its only 75-78 right now.

I'm not sure whether its winds. I'm usually not home during the day so its entirely possible but i doubt it.
