Brandywine question

I am considering Brandywine maple for my backyard and was wondering if someone who has this maple can provide some info on what the mature size of this tree will be. The tree tag in the nursery says that it will be about 30-40' tall with 12' spread. Is the mature spread really only 12'? Searches on the net for this maple yielded inconsistent results with some saying that the spread will be 12' while others said it will be 30-40'. And, is it a fast growing tree?

This is a red maple which means under suitable conditions it will grow into a large tree in time. Plan for the 40' spread.
