 o
question on location of maple

Hi,

We planted a baby maple tree on the side of our house 3 1/2 years ago (the house was about 1 year old) to shade the side of our house, next to the bathroom window. The tree has grown very fast and is very healthy (seems to love the location), but now I'm worried it is too close to our foundation. It is about 3 1/2 feet from the foundation - does this sound too close? If so, would it be difficult to transplant this tree? We don't have a lot of room on the side of our house, so we'd have to move it to the front or back.

Thanks

Sounds like Silver maple. You said it has grown "very" fast and silver maple comes to mind. I hope for your sake, it's not silver maple!
