I have inherited a Japanese maple given to my mother last year. It's nearly 2 feet tall, Do I keep it moist, or let it dry out between waterings? Does it need all day shade, or is it good with partial sun, and protection from the afternoon sun. It's right next to a 5 ft. ficus benjemina which thrives on that same sun/shade mix. Should I change the potting soil to anything special? is there a web site someone could direct me to that gives good instructions?
