| I have a silver maple that I have been growing from a sapling. It is about 7-10 years old. It has a nice shape, and the most straight trunk.
This year, however, the trunk has begun to peel, with curling up bark. This never has peeled before. Is this common? Or should I be concerned? It has lush leaves and no signs of distress in the foilage. Thanks, Julyguy |

| Have a arborist look at it. I just a maple this spring that showed that symptom two years before. Might not be your problem, but why wait. |

| Doesn't the silver maples' bark peel as they get older? I understood this is common, at least from what I have read. |
