| I posted this originally in Name That Plant before I realized there was a maple forum. Maybe someone here can tell me the variety of this maple. It is a very young tree, maybe 3 inches in diameter and six or seven feet tall. I'm attaching a link to the original post with photos.

| I'd say it's definitely Red Maple or as bboy suggests, and only if it was purchased (due to size), (or seedling grown) Acer x freemanii is certainly the only other option. Dax |

| Thanks! I reassured my friend today that she doesn't have the dreaded Norway. We are both on a quest to eliminate any non-native invasives and replace with natives, where possible. |
