JM ID needed, please

Found this oddity among the 50 Emperor One JM's at Home Depot today. The only one of its kind with no tag.

It was only $14 so I couldn't resist. :)

Anyone have any idea what variety it is? Thanks in advance!

Andrea

Might be 'Beni Schichihenge' (although a little pale) or 'Butterlfy' (which may not be as pink) or 'Asahi Zuru' (usually more pink).

Thanks for your input, Joe! I figured it might be hard to tell b/c it's a little crispy right now from lack of care at HD. :)

I'm hoping to narrow it down so I can figure out siting to plant it. I really don't have room for it...but will make room b/c it seemed like such a score and I'm a sucker. LOL

I'm no expert, but I have an "Orido Nishiki", and it could be that as well. $14 for any of the varieties mentioned is a real steal. The Depot's around here in MA only ever have bloodgoods and weeping dissectums.

that *does* look a lot like it...down to the curlyish leaves. if that's what it is...looks like i scored a good one! :D

it was definitely the "odd man out" in the pile of them thrown all over the place by the storms. I think people thought it was diseased and avoided it b/c it had no tag. LOVE IT!
