Based on the pictures below, would you agree that the plant is grafted and that the new green growth that I'm seeing is from the donor trunk, and not the same species as the top grafted part before I cut these limbs off? Thank you.

Correct on all counts........snip off those green shoots asap, or they will try and overtake the grafted tree.

Is it normal that the graft is so high up the trunk? My other 2 are grafted right down at the ground.

Both techniques are commonly used. The "high" graft allows the grower to have a taller plant available more quickly.

Keep a watch out for more shoots coming from below the graft for a year or two, and rub them off before they get a chance to develop into branches. When the tree gets a bit older it will be less likely to happen again, it most often occurs on youngsters.
