Well none of us have ever been thru this "once in 50 year freeze" experience to my knowledge... alot will depend on NEXT winter .My gut feeling is if trunk and main branches are OK and no disease present it will recoup fine next spring summer .If A really severe winter or really hot dry fall stressing out tree then all bets are off ...Many of mine have deformed leaves and others have been hurt by the heat this summer although it hasn't been that hot.but they are not in optimin shape to take much at thsi point..all my older trees are lookin good though albiet a bit sparcely leafed. If I were a bettin' man I'd say it will survive and thrive next summer but I am no Nostradamus . david
