I have a japanese maple and some of the leaves are starting to brown.

It is potted and I keep the soil moist, let it dry and re water. It gets ambient sunlight and then in the late afternoon direct sunlight through a western facing window.

heres a pic:

Ive noticed that some of the leaves are browning and curling a bit, Im concerned.. any ideas how I might remedy this? also i noticed some of the new leaves are browning before maturing past lil' sprouts.

Are you growing this inside? That is a problem. These are for growing outside.
Other than that, maybe too much water is all I can think of.
Or sometimes a JM will just die on you for an unknown reason. That happened to one of mine recently.
Sorry I can't be more definitive.
